Liverpool secured an impressive 4-2 win against Newcastle United as hostility ensued in the Premier League on Monday night.

Mohamed Salah had the chance to give Liverpool the lead but his penalty was saved by the Newcastle United goalkeeper in the 22nd minute.

The save led to Liverpool being under pressure to find the breakthrough goal in the match. But in the end, it finished goalless at the break.

At the break, Mohamed Salah opened the scoring in the 49th minute following an assist from Darwin Nunez. 

However, the Newcastle United side equalized to make it 1-1 thanks to a goal from Alexander Isak in the 54th minute. He was assisted by Anthony Gordon. Curtis Jones made it 2-1 in the 74th minute thanks to an assist from Diogo Jota.

Liverpool made it 3-1 in the 78th minute thanks to a goal from Dutch star Cody Gakpo. Gakpo was assisted by Mohamed Salah.

Newcastle United would reduce the deficit in the 81st minute to make it 3-2 thanks to a goal from Sven Botman.

He was assisted by Sean Longstaff. Salah restored Liverpool's two-goal cushion with a goal when he netted in the 86th minute to make it 4-2.

The Egyptian superstar converted the spot-kick to ensure it finished 4-2 in favour of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.
