Fast-rising Nigerian artiste Lojay recently appeared on the popular radio show, ‘Flow with Korty’, where he discussed his approach to music and how he views himself in the industry.
According to the singer, the only thing that could hurt him is criticism of his music, as he strongly believes in his abilities and the quality of his work.
“The only thing anyone can tell me that will pain me is something that has to do with my music. Maybe like; your shit is trash.
"I know my shit is not trash. You know,” he said.
Lojay also talked about his pride and self-worth, describing his internal dialogue, which he referred to as a “duality”, where he reminds himself that he is not ordinary but unique.
“My pride is usually for my work and my self-worth.
"Whenever I’m talking to myself, whenever it’s me and myself; it’s almost like a duality to it.
“You are not shit but you are the shit. You are not special but you are unique.
"And that uniqueness is what makes me know that ‘okay yeah, nobody is like me’.”
He went on to state that his uniqueness sets him apart from other artistes in the industry.
“Whatever I bring to the table, there is nobody that brings that all round, that set of skill on the table.
“And that uniqueness alone makes me the best. It’s just me myself and I.
"Who is better than me? Myself,” he added.
