Lead British International School (LBIS) has partnered Madestone Sports to bring football to school children in Ibadan, cut across a wide range of age groups, from ages 5 to 17 years.

According to the Head Coach of the academy, Olubiyi Oluwatobiloba, the Leadbritish-Madestone Football academy partnership is engineered towards encouraging the acceptance of the sport in kids at a younger age and preparing them for a career in football or sports at large.

Olubiyi, a UEFA licensed coach from the English Football Association and former coach of the Charlton Athletic Junior Reds FC, Bexleyheath, UK, also promises fun and engaging coaching sessions which will ensure the rapid development of the talents of the kids in the academy.

Understanding the need to establish a perfect balance between class activities and football, Olubiyi outlined their defined strategy to ensure the kids’ involvement on the pitch doesn’t negatively affect their intellectual capabilities in the classroom.

The Head of Secondary School of the Lead British International School, Olusola Babayeju, also noted that the school is happy to be a part of this development in Ibadan.

According to him, this partnership is notably the first of its kind in the whole of Oyo State, and the school’s sports facilities will serve as the host ground for the academy, welcoming various kids from every part of the prestigious city of Ibadan and beyond.

According to him, the school’s sports infrastructure is adequate enough to achieve the objectives of the partnership and consequently encourages parents to enroll their interested wards/children in the football academy.

In the same vein, Adesuyi, Head of Primary School of the Lead British International School, "the partnership between the school and Madestone Sports hopes to produce world-renowned talents who will represent the country and ultimately become super sports stars in the nearest future".

Most importantly, Olubiyi noted that the collaboration, which was signed off at the school’s premises at the school premises in Ibadan, Oyo state, has intentionally embraced affordability, ensuring no kid is denied admission into the academy due to lack of funds.

Other important personalities present at the signing-off include the School’s Bursar, Mrs. Folorunsho, Madestone Sports’ Financial Manager, Akanji Akinyemi, the School’s HR Manager, Mrs. Oreniwa.

With experienced and well-trained coaches on the ground, Madestone Sports Academy is set to begin operation by October 2021. In the meantime, the registration to join the Leadbritish-Madestone Football Academy is now open, eligible for school students, both boys, and girls of the aforementioned ages.
