The Senatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Nasarawa West District, Barrister Labaran Shuaibu Magaji on Friday scaled another legal hurdle as the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal dismissed a suit filed by opponent, Architect Shehu Ahmad Tukur

Tukur had filed an interlocutory appeal seeking an order to transfer the case against him at the Federal High Court, Lafia to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Courts for reassignment to another Judge for fresh hearing, which the Court of Appeal in its ruling dismissed.

On November 4, The Federal High Court, Lafia nullified the June 4 primary election of the ruling party held in Keffi that produced him as senatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections.

Delivering judgement, the presiding Judge, Justice Nehizena Idemudia-Afolabi who announced the nullification of the election, ordered APC to conduct a fresh election within two weeks.

The Judge also directed the governing party to use the authentic list of delegates certified by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the conduct of the fresh election.

Meanwhile, the party has notified INEC and fixed Friday November 11 and Saturday November 12, 2022 as dates for the conduct of the primary.

This was contained in a letter signed by its Chairman and Secretary, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Iyiola Omisore, respectively dated Wednesday November 9, 2022.

According to the letter, the exercise would hold in Keffi, the headquarters of the senatorial district.
