Magnificent Romelu Lukaku inspires Belgium to beat Azerbaija

Belgium v Austria

The exemplary Belgium striker was on hand to inspire his side to a 5-0 win over Azerbaijan in the EURO 2024 Qualifiers on Sunday. Lukaku was in top form as he scored four times to set the tone for a big win for Belgium.

His first goal came in the 17th minute following an assist from Jeremy Doku while Azerbaijan's Eddy Israfilov was sent off in the 24th minute after a foul on star forward Romelu Lukaku.

That challenge wouldn't deter the striker as he doubled Belgium's advantage in the 26th minute to make it 2-0.

With Romelu Lukaku finding his rhythm by the minutes he got the third goal and a hat-trick just at the hour mark just to punish the already one-man-down Azerbaijan side in the contest.

He would score the fourth goal to cap off a magnificent performance on the night in the 37th minute thanks to an assist from Orel Mangala.

The Belgium side took it easy with the Azerbaijan side but in the end, there was one moment of creativity in this fixture as Premier League stars Jeremy Doku (Manchester City) and Leandro Trossard (Arsenal) combined to make it 5-0 in the 90th minute.

With the latter Trossard getting on the score sheet to round off the scoring in a highly entertaining contest.
