A man pleaded guilty on Monday, to abducting a four-year-old girl from her family’s camping tent on Australia’s west coast last year.
The Police found four-year-old Cleo Smith alone in a house on the country’s west coast 18 days after she went missing last October.
The search for her had captivated Australians, and the Police.
The Police disclosed that the man arrested was a stranger to the girl and her family. They have, however, only given a little information about why he was a suspect.
The suspect, Terence Darrell Kelly, a 36-year-old man, admitted to the abduction during a brief court appearance in Carnarvon.
He faces a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison upon conviction for forcefully taking a child under age 16.
