Man City defeat Fulham, top EPL table

Arsenal could reclaim first spot with win on Sunday versus Man United

Manchester City edged closer to retaining the Premier League title on Saturday afternoon with a comfortable 4-0 win over Fulham away at Craven Cottage.

Pep Guardiola's men needed to secure all three points and put pressure on Arsenal who face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday; they did effortlessly and the title race seems set to be settled on the final day.

Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol put the Cityzens ahead in the 13th minute when he finished off a flowing move by the away side.

Player of the Season contender Phil Foden continued his excellent form for the current leaders as he instinctively finished a first-time effort past the stranded Bernd Leno.

Erling Haaland fluffed his chance to make it the third goal for his team midway into the game but his shot was way wide off the target.

Gvardiol, who has added goals to his resume in addition to his primary defensive duties popped up again at the other end to stab home the ball.

City put daylight in the match in added time from the penalty spot through Julian Alvare who converted from the spot kick after he was fouled inside the box by Isap Diop who got the marching order as he was booked for the second time.

Up next for Manchester City is a meeting with North London side Tottenham on Tuesday and could be handed the title if Arsenal fail to get a positive result at Old Trafford and they beat Spurs.
