Manchester City Midfielder, Illkay Gundogan has tested positive for COVID-19, becoming the third player in the team to test positive since the start of the pandemic, causing him to miss the season opener against Wolves on Monday.
He is the latest victim of the virus in the squad after Laporte, Mahrez, both tested positive and have since recovered from the disease.

Former City playmaker, Silva also tested positive before joining Real Sociedad. He has also recovered playing in the season opener against Real Madrid on Sunday night.
Gundogan will be seat out the season opener with teammates like Laporte, Aguero due to injury with Phil Foden coming back to the squad after being dismissed from England national team during the UEFA Nations League due to a breach in the coronavirus rules in the camp.
With the loss of Laporte to an injury, Nathan Ake, the City defender could also feature in his debut game for the citizens on Monday's fixture against Wolves.
The club's website announced the test result of the German international on their twitter page.
