Man United vs Man City: Why We Lost Against Red Devils - Guardiola

Man United vs Man City: Why We Lost Against Red Devils - Gua

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has identified his team's ineptitude in the attacking third as the reason they lost two nil to Manchester United in the English Premier League (EPL) on Sunday.

Allnews reports that an action-packed clash at Old Trafford saw Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay score for the hosts.

After the match, Guardiola, boss of City, who should surrender their title to Liverpool soon insists his side played "good".

"We played good, we missed a little in the final third but the second half was better and it was a good performance,” the City manager told Sky Sports.

“We play the same way, tried the press and defend well and we did well.

“Our game is there, we played really good in terms of coming here. They wait and did long balls on the counter-attack for Daniel James and Anthony Martial.”

For Bernardo Silva, he is of the opinion that the 'Cityzens' need to go back to drawing board.

"It was a bad game for us,” he told Sky Sports.

“Not acceptable. We didn’t start badly and were playing quite well until we conceded.

“We know how good the Manchester United players are on the counter-attack, very aggressive. So our performance was not acceptable.

“We will have to watch the game back and listen to what Pep has to say. But a team like ours cannot lose this many games. We need to check what’s not going right and try not to make so many mistakes.”

City turn attention to Arsenal on Wednesday.
