Man Utd Planning To Stop 'Clever' Kane, Says Ten Hag

Erik ten Hag has admitted that Manchester United have a plan to stop "clever" Harry Kane against Tottenham on Thursday.

The English international is considered as a threat by the Dutchman, who is understood to have Kane on his list of summer transfer targets, given his tally of 31 goals in 52 games for Spurs and England this season.

"It's quite clear his [Kane] impact on the game from Spurs," United boss Ten Hag said.

"We have a plan of course for that. The home game we did very well, so for tomorrow we need a very good plan as well.

"You have to defend him as a team. He's a clever player, so don't allow him to come into situations. He can have a big impact on the game."

United are six points clear of Spurs, who dropped to sixth in the Premier League table after their 6-1 thrashing at Newcastle on Sunday and Aston Villa's defeat of Fulham on Tuesday night.

Consequently, Cristian Stellini was sacked as caretaker manager on Monday and Ryan Mason was appointed as interim coach for the remainder of the campaign.
