Over a dozen of people have been injured following the collapse of the gate of Biu Local Government Lodge in Biu, Borno State.
The incident happened during the weekend when Senator Ali Ndume visited delegates to share palliatives.
The senator who represents Borno South described the incident as unfortunate.
He made the disclosure in Maiduguri on Monday.
“Over a dozen of my supporters were injured at the weekend when the main gate of Biu Local Government Lodge collapsed in the process of sharing palliatives."
He added that the hospital bills for the injured has since been settled.
“My intention was to meet the delegates and assure them of more dividends of democracy if given the mandate again."
He further expressed joy over the turnout from delegates and supporters in the five Local Government Areas of the senatorial district.
Ndume stated that women who came out in mass were given wrppper and N3,000 each.
While disclosing the projects he had implemented, he said the drilling and equipping 104 boreholes have been achieved in nine council areas of his constituency.
He further stated that he has constructed and equipped three primary schools in Gwoza and Chibok local government areas of the constituency.
He also noted that farmers should anticipate the arrival of his fertilizer trucks for distribution soon.
