May 29: President Buhari Hands Over Transition Papers To Tinubu

President Muhammadu Buhari has handed the transition documents over to Bola Tinubu ahead of the inauguration on May 29.

Tinubu was also given the baton of service alongside the documents at the investiture of the National Honour of Grand Commander of the Federal Republic on Tinubu and Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger on Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja.

The handing-over of the documents is in line with Executive Order 14 which mandates that the transition council issues handover notes containing, amongst other things, proposed policy direction for the incoming administration.

While giving his acceptance speech after being bestowed the honour on Thursday, Tinubu pledged not to disappoint citizens after the assumption of office on May 29.

“I understand the magnitude of the honour conferred on me today and the task ahead. Nigerians deserve no less.

“You (Buhari) have charted the course and I shall not disappoint you,” he said.
