May Day: Governor Badaru Commends Workers For Support

The Governor of Jigawa State, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has commended workers in the state for their support of his administration.

The governor also praised the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) for their cooperation.

Badaru made the compliment while addressing workers during the 2023 Workers’ Day celebration on Monday.

The event took place at the Aminu Kano Triangle in Dutse, the state's capital.

The governor further appreciated the state workers for their support in the implementation of his administration's policies.

The state's Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal D. Sankara, made this known in a statement.

The governor also listed some of his achievements in the past years, especially in the area of workers' welfare.

“Under our administration, we have prioritized workers’ welfare by ensuring the prompt payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities as and when due.

"We have also provided a conducive working environment for civil servants through the renovation and construction of new office buildings across the state,” the governor said.

Governor Badaru further stated that his administration has been able to maintain industrial harmony in the state, which has contributed to the socio-economic development of Jigawa State.

He called on workers to continue to support the government in its efforts to move the state forward.

In his response, the state's chairman of the NLC thanked the governor for his support to workers in the state.

He lauded the governor for his commitment to workers’ welfare and promised the continued cooperation of workers in the state.

“We appreciate the governor’s commitment to workers’ welfare and his prompt payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities.

"We also commend his efforts in maintaining industrial harmony in the state.

"We promise to continue to support the government in its efforts to improve the lives of workers in the state,” he said.
