Honourable Adewale Temitope Adedeji (ATA), member representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has commended Nigerian workers on the celebration of Workers Day.

May Day, also called Workers' Day or International Workers' Day, is a day for commemorating the historic struggles and gains made by workers and the labour movement, observed in many countries on May 1.

In a press statement made available to AllNews Nigeria on Saturday, Adewale Temitope Adedeji described workers as resilient, resourceful and the oil that keeps the wheel of the nation running.

"It is another opportunity to celebrate the workers that have kept the nation moving.

"On this day of yours, the least we can do is to thank you for your services.

"You are resilient, resourceful and reliable.

"Happy Workers Day to all the hardworking people who contribute to making our society a better place", he said.

He also commended the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ifako-Ijaiye and other workers sweating day and night to ensure a functioning and progressive Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government.
