Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe has begun his reign as France captain in style, scoring two goals and providing an assist in a 4-0 win over the Netherlands in a Euro 2024 qualifier in Paris.

The Paris Saint-Germain star has taken over from long-standing skipper Hugo Lloris and wasted no time in making an impact, setting up Antoine Griezmann for the opening goal inside two minutes.

Dayot Upamecano and Mbappe added two more goals before half-time, with the latter completing his brace in the dying minutes of the game.

Mbappe's performance was described as "ruthless efficiency" against a Dutch side missing several key players due to a virus.

The victory puts France on track to qualify for next year's Euro.
