Medical Practitioner Offers Bursary To 189 Ondo Students

A Nigerian-born Medical Practitioner, Dr Abiola Oshodi expended bursary to 189 students of tertiary institutions in Owo and Ose Local Government Areas of Ondo State.

The Canada-based Psychiatric Consultant said the gesture aimed at reducing the struggles of students who were not financially buoyant to fund their academic pursuits.

Oshodi noted that the bursary and scholarship scheme will be extended to more students across the state.

The Medical Practioner, who was a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Committee, said that artwork competitions had been included in the scheme.

He expressed happiness that youths were being assisted in preparation for leadership.

“These people that we are grooming, their successes will not be limited to Ondo State nor even Nigeria because we are in the digital age.

“We are actually moving in that direction because we are listening to testimonies of those who have benefited,” he said.

The APC Vice Chairman in Canada appreciated the people of the state for their support during Saturday's polls, appealing for the same in the House of Assembly election on March 11.

Ayomide Olurotimi, the President of the Ose LG Students Association, expressed his happiness regarding the bursary, stating that it would have a significant impact on their lives.

The National President of the Owo LGA Students Union, Adewumi Ojigbo, also praised Oshodi's passion and dedication to providing succour to youths and building the future generation for a better tomorrow.

Ojigbo noted that Oshodi had generously awarded scholarships and bursaries, and provided buses to students in the area and across the state.

Chief Oluwadimola Bamido, one of the beneficiaries, recounted how Oshodi sponsored his education from Ordinary National Diploma 1 to Higher National Diploma 2.
