Meet The Celebrities Who Believe People 'Hate' Them

In an industry where everyone strives to be the best, there is bound to be dramas arising from perceived envy, hatred,  and beef among contemporaries.

Sometimes, hatred does not directly come from people in the same industry, but from people who are familiar with their craft, which is inevitable.

The Nigerian entertainment industry can be likened to a human being who’s bound to have ups and downs; there are times you are happy and other times you are sad.

Some entertainers indirectly claim their contemporaries do not fancy them, probably because of their background or their level of achievements - an action that stirs uproars on social media street.

AllNews have put together events that led to some singers claiming that they are not loved either in the industry or among music lovers.

                                                                                               Davido

This platform can authoritatively name two instances where Davido has declared that people do not love him because of his wealthy background. Davido, a son of Nigeria’s billionaire Adedeji Adeleke, is arguably one of the most successful musicians in Nigeria and has over time, claimed that he worked for his money without relying on his father’s wealth.

Just recently, the award-winning Afropop singer, recently said he believes that he gets much hate from fans is as a result of his father’s wealth. On Friday, April 24, a Twitter follower alleged that he does not deserve the hate he gets.

The father of three said “What hate ?? The just mad my Dad rich !! MY FANS LOVE ME !!”

Recall that Davido last year claimed he gets little support in his musical career because his father is rich.

Speaking in a viral video, the “1 Milli” crooner said: “Yes I want to thank all my brothers and sisters, my fans, people that have supported me. I am already used to this industry.”

“Seven years now and nobody supports me, its just hate, from morning till night. because of what? my papa get money (sic). I work hard, I deliver hits. I take care of my people. So if you have a problem with me, suck ma d**k”’.

                                                                               DJ Cuppy

Unlike Davido who concluded people hate him because of his father's wealth, female singer and Disc Jockey Cuppy, did not state her reasons for making such a conclusion. Last year, she claimed that 80% of Nigerians do not like her. But she made reference to the fact that Nigeria has a large population, which obviously means that quite a number of people still love her.

“80% of Nigerian people don’t like me,” she tweeted. “Good thing we have a large population!”. She ended with a laughing emoji. meanwhile, she recently revealed how afrobeats star, Teni, helped her when she needed a shoulder to cry on. According to the daughter of Nigerian business magnate Femi Otedola, she almost gave up when Teni showed up to give her the encouragement she needed.

“Just when I was giving up… Teni called me with the encouragement I needed. This superstar literally sat on the phone with me and heard me out. She then told me she’s been through the same thing when she was working on her first project. People didn’t believe in her. I’m not alone.”

                                                                                              Burna Boy

On his own part, self-proclaimed African Giant who has for some time being receiving backlashes on social media platforms, recently said people hate him because he says the truth. Of a truth, Burna Boy has been labelled arrogant and rude over some of his social media posts especially after he declared himself best artiste after legendary afrobeats star, Fela Kuti. “FACT! I always knew I was and I am THE BEST. Everyone you think is the best KNOWS I’m BEST since Fela Kuti. But @timayatimaya told me something a long time ago that made me not care about being the best. “The World can do without the Best” the world will still spin regardless” he had tweeted.

In a recent post on Snapchat, the "Anybody" singer, without stating the category of people he referred to, said people hate him because he says things the way they are.

He wrote: “They Love me but they hate me because I tell them what they NEED to hear and not what they want to hear.”

                                                                            M.I Abaga

Also on the list, is an ace rapper and self-proclaimed Africa rapper number 1, M.I Abaga, who stated that it was obvious that people hate him in the industry. M.I’s declaration came at a time when he and Vector shaded each other with diss tracks.

Recall that the diss tracks were more pronounced when M.I declared himself ‘Africa’s best rapper ever’ in a track released. After then, Vector teamed up with some rappers to shade M.I in a track “the purge” and then the former also dropped his, titled “The Viper” On Friday, October 11, Vector again came through with “Judas The Rat” where he rubbished the former chocolate city boss.

However, on January 3rd, one of M.I’s followers tweeted “I think your fellow celeb/artist don’t like you that much and they took every opportunity to show it. Like the AKA n Wiz issue. They came for you and you took an L e.g sliding in VEC DM”, the follower tweeted.

Responding, M.I said it was becoming clearer to him that they truly resent him “This is becoming clearer by the day! Don’t really care though!!! Positive vibes only,” he tweeted.
