Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have opened up on how Award-winning American filmmaker and actor, Tyler Perry, stepped in to provide security for them after the British royal family strips them of security.
In a 2-hour special interview session with Oprah Winfrey on Sunday, the couple spoke on how they panicked soon after they were informed, within short notice, that they would stop receiving security from the royal family due to a ‘change in status.'

At that time, Harry and Markle were in Canada. The two moved to Canada just before 2019 Christmas with their one-year-old son Archie, only slightly before the pandemic lockdown.
Prince Harry said, “While we were in Canada, in someone else’s house, I then got told, short notice, that security was going to be removed. At this point, everyone knew, thanks to the Daily Mail, our exact location.

“So suddenly it dawned on me: ‘Hang on, the borders could be closed, we’re going to have our security removed, who knows how long lockdown is going to be, the world knows where we are, it’s not safe, it’s not secure, we probably need to get out of here.”
Markle told Winfrey they didn’t have a plan and needed a house, and it was at that point Perry stepped in. Perry offered them one of his homes in Southern California, where they stayed for three months, and full security detail.
Markle said it gave them a moment 'to breathe’ while they tried to figure out their next step.
