Mele Kyari Confirms Death Of OPEC Secretary General, Muhammad Barkindo
The managing director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mallam Mele Kyari has confirmed the death of Muhammad Sanusi Barkindo, Secretary-General of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
Muhammad Sanusi Barkindo (63) died on July 5, 2022, after giving a speech at the ongoing Nigeria Oil and Gas conference (NOG)
Confirming Barkindo's death, Mallam Mele Kyari via a tweet Wednesday morning said, “We lost our esteemed Dr Muhammad Sanusi Barkindo.
"He died at about 11 pm yesterday 5th July 2022.
"Certainly a great loss to his immediate family, the NNPC, our country Nigeria, the OPEC and the global energy community.
"Burial arrangements will be announced shortly."
