Those who may be getting tired of superheroes looking buff and ripped have something just for them as for the first time, audiences will be treated to middle-aged women wearing spandex and using superpowers.
Written and directed by Ben Falcone, Thunder Force is an upcoming superhero comedy film starring the aforementioned actresses.
Octavia Spencer is Lydia, a woman who has developed a way to give ordinary people superpowers. When her best friend Emily (Melissa McCarthy) unwittingly gifts herself said powers, the two must become the superheroes the world needs.

But the path of superheroes is never without a few bumps, as the best friends find out. While defending the people from bad guys, they have to find a way to add some finesse to their methods.

For me, this is a welcome change in the superhero genre and I couldn't be more excited about the two leads. They are talented and from the trailer, their chemistry is off the charts.
Thunder Force co-stars Jason Bateman, Bobby Cannavale, Pom Klementieff, Kevin Dunn, and Melissa Leo. It will premiere on Netflix on April 9, 2021.
