Chidinma was said to have engaged in a conversation with the suspects only to discover that they were negotiating to have joint sex with her.
According to her, she refused and attempted to walk away. However, her action had angered the suspects, who she claimed attacked, assaulted, and damaged properties in her apartment at Isheri Oshun Road, Bucknor area of Ejigbo, including the Aluminum window.

The alleged assault was reported to the Police, after which the suspects were arrested. After interrogation and having found them culpable, they were charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates court for conspiracy and malicious damage. They both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. E.O. Ogunkanmi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum. They were however to be remanded in a Correctional Centre, pending their ability to fulfill their bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned for hearing, for the Police to prove that the suspects have actually committed the offenses.
