Messi reveals plans to end career with MLS leaders Inter Mia

Eight-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi has revealed that he plans to hang his football boots when his contract at MLS side, Inter Miami expires.

The former Barelona and PSG star, believed by many as the greatest player of this generation joined the American soccer franchise after a fractured relationship with the PSG heriachy.

"As of today, I think it's going to be my last club. I'm not ready to leave football either," the Argentine told ESPN.

The 2022 World Cup winer has scored  this season 12 goals and 13 assists in 12 matches for the MLS leaders.

Messi who is expected to lead his national team to the Copa America to bew hosted this year by the USA stated that it was not easy to transition from European football to the American soccer game.

"It was a difficult step to leave Europe to come here," Messi told ESPN.

"The fact of having been world champion helped a lot to see things differently also.

Asked by ESPN how his daily routine has been in the MLS, the Argentine said:

"I love playing football. I enjoy the training, every day of the matches. [I am] a little afraid that everything will end.

"That's why I enjoy everything much more, because I'm aware that there's less and less to go and I have a good time at the club.

"I enjoy the little details that I know I'm going to miss when I don't play any more," Messi told ESPN.
