Messi Transfer: Mbappe Situation Clearer

PSG are confident of keeping Kylian Mbappe once the transfer of Lionel Messi is finalised, as Real Madrid continue to wait in the wings for the France international.

Mbappe's future has been the subject of much speculation in recent months, with the World Cup winner yet to reach an agreement over a contract extension with PSG.

The 22-year-old is being heavily linked with Madrid after entering the final 12 months of his current deal, but Messi's impending arrival at Parc des Princes could lead to a swift resolution that sees him remain in Paris for the long term.

Mbappe would, presumably, love to play alongside both Neymar Jr. and Messi at the same time, and it may make them the best team in Europe - by some distance.

Meanwhile, discussing the long-running transfer saga with SportBild, Toni Kroos said of Mbappe: "I prefer to talk about signings that have already been completed, but since Real always want the best, I would not be surprised.

"Next to him, [Erling] Haaland is definitely the most interesting player on the market, and therefore [would] not exactly [be] cheap. We must not forget that we are in a period where there's not an endless flow of money and, at the same time, we are completing our stadium, [which] is not free either."
