Meta Tests Easier Account Switching Between Facebook, Instagram

Meta Tests Easier Account Switching Between Facebook, Instag

Facebook parent company Meta has started testing two new interfaces for moving between Facebook and Instagram accounts on Monday for Android, iOS, and the web.

Users can utilise the function to switch between the two apps without going to their phone's home screen, multitasking menu, or app drawer as long as their Facebook and Instagram login information is added to the same Accounts Center.

Additionally, users may view a total count of all their notifications from the interface.

The login and onboarding processes for Meta are being updated simultaneously on Android and iOS.

Users can make one account on the company's social networks, and then use it to create others if they're new users.

With the addition of both Facebook and Instagram to the same Accounts Center, users who already have both accounts can now access the other using their login credentials for one.

Every time a new account is added to the Accounts Center or an existing account is utilised to establish a new one, Meta will let you know.

Additionally, security features like two-factor authentication will continue to function, preventing someone from accessing your Facebook account using, for example, your Instagram login information.

Meta said it will "continue to explore how to improve connected experiences across all of our technologies" even though the new features are "temporarily limited to Facebook and Instagram."

They come after the launch of Meta accounts in August and a recent slowdown in the company's revenue and user growth.
