Meta To End Existing Facebook Jobs Product

Meta has announced that existing Facebook Groups on its platform with a “Jobs” group type will be changed to the “General group type and the “Jobs” group type will no longer be available for both employers and job seekers.

Facebook stated that the change will take effect from February 22, 2022, to users outside of the United States and Canada and the ability to distribute free jobs via a partner integration with the job on Facebook API will no longer be available.

According to the report, employers in the United States and Canada will continue to use the feature on Facebook tools to create jobs postings from their Page for free on the Facebook app and Facebook desktop website and can choose to boost their post ads.

Facebook in 2018 rolled out job posts to 40 countries to make it easier for both employers and

seekers to start local businesses and hire the right people.

As at the time of this report, Facebook didn’t give the reason why Groups with a “Jobs” group type will no longer be available for both employers and seekers.
