Microsoft To Discontinue Xbox 360 Games From Xbox Games With Gold In October

Microsoft has started emailing Xbox Live Gold subscribers to let them know that Xbox 360 titles would no longer be included in its Games in October promotion.

According to the software designer, the business has "reached the limit of our ability to introduce Xbox 360 titles to the catalogue."

Users of Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate are entitled to the Games with Gold benefit each month.

The most recent Xbox Series X/S consoles and the Xbox One are both compatible with all Xbox 360 games, and Microsoft handpicks free games every month.

Microsoft announced last year that it had "hit the limit of our capacity to introduce new games to the catalogue from the past due to licencing, legal and technical constraints."

This change will not affect Xbox 360 games that you have previously downloaded or redeemed through Games with Gold.

Simply put, this indicates that beginning on October 1st, Microsoft won't be adding any new Xbox 360 games to the Games with Gold selection.

Although Xbox Game Pass has replaced Xbox Live Gold as the essential subscription for Xbox customers, Xbox Live Gold is still very well-liked.

Last year, Microsoft tried to increase the cost of a yearly subscription, but in response to criticism, the corporation changed its mind and even removed the Xbox Live Gold need for free-to-play games.

This will not impact any Xbox 360 games that you downloaded before October 2022. Any Xbox 360 titles that you redeem via Games with Gold before that time are yours to keep on your Xbox account, regardless of whether you continue your subscription.
