Miroslav Klose Gets Bayern Munich Job

Germany football legend, Miroslav Klose, has been announced as Bayern Munich's first-team assistant coach, Allnews reports.

With this development, the world cup icon will now be Hansi Flick's right-hand man.

Up until now, the 41-year-old had been working with the club’s U-17 team.

This appointment sees Klose move up the ladder in German football and also gives Bayern another significant voice on the bench.

Meanwhile, assistant coach and analyst, Danny Rohl, also extended his contract for the entirety of Flick’s tenure.

This is just the latest wave of contract extensions Bayern have been working on since the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic affected activities throughout the world.

Earlier, Flick, Thomas Muller, and Alphonso Davies had all announced new deals.

Bayern Chairman reacts

"We are very happy that Miro has decided to take this step from the FC Bayern Campus to the first team," Bayern Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

"I am convinced that our strikers, in particular, will benefit from him being there as a coach. Miro was also Hansi Flick's preferred candidate."
