Mo'Hits: Don Jazzy Speaks On Split With D'banj

Contrary to social media assumptions that he parted ways with singer D'banj over money issues, Don Jazzy has said that nothing of such occurred.

AllNews reports that Don Jazzy was the chief executive of defunct Mo’Hit records and D’Banj, the number one musician on the label, was his partner.

Speaking with Ubi Franklin on the kind of relationship that existed between him and D’banj, before they parted ways in 2012, Don Jazzy said they understood each other.

The Mavin records boss said he ensures that he bonds with every of his artistes in order to have a good structure.

Stating that some monies do not even come from performance, the legendary music producer said: “The way I am with people in my company like myself and D’banj, money issues didn’t occur. I and D’Banj were so in sync that D’Banj can go to Oba of Lagos and return with N10 million and we would still share that money."

Speaking further while advising record label owners, Don Jazzy said: "Bond with your artist more, it’s not everything that contract can solve but it is good to have a structure in place so that if by any chance things get out of hand you can step in and the contract can be what you guys can use to solve your problem but I try to make sure that it doesn’t get to that.”
