Perez Medcare Hospital, where the late Nigerian singer Mohbad was rumoured to have been taken before his death, has issued a statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the artiste’s demise.
The hospital’s statement was posted on its Instagram page on Monday night.
According to the hospital’s statement, Mohbad was brought to their medical facility already deceased.
The medical team at the hospital conducted an assessment, which revealed no signs of life and attempts to perform CPR confirmed rigour mortis, indicating that he had already passed away.
The individuals who brought him to the hospital were informed that it was a case of being brought in dead (BID).
The statement also addressed the situation leading to the emergency, explaining that the deceased had been receiving treatment at home from a nurse who was not associated with the hospital.
The hospital’s team recommended that the body be taken to the nearest government hospital to be placed in the morgue.
Perez Medcare Hospital emphasised that Mohbad was never a patient at their facility and had never been admitted at any point.
They further clarified that the nurse administering treatment at home was not employed by their hospital.
The hospital also disassociated itself from any videos circulating on social media depicting Mohbad receiving treatment, stating that it was not footage from Perez Medcare Hospital.
