Mohbad: SDP Calls On Concerned Fans To Refrain From Violence

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has called upon fans and concerned individuals to refrain from resorting to violence over Mohbad’s death.

The South-West Zonal Secretary of SDP, Femi Olaniyi, made this appeal during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

The SDP extended its condolences to the family and associates of the late singer, expressing solidarity with them during this difficult time.

Olaniyi spoke on the importance of patience and discouraged any form of violence while awaiting the results of the ongoing security investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.

He urged all parties involved to refrain from taking the law into their own hands, emphasising that violence is not a solution regardless of the emotional distress caused by the situation.

“We condole with friends and families of Mohbad and use this medium to advise all the parties concerned to be patient and shun violence.

“Let all the aggrieved wait for the outcome of the investigation ongoing by the security.

“Nobody should take law into his or her hand under any guise no matter how hurt it is, issues surrounding the death of the singer,” he said.

Instead, Olaniyi called on the Nigeria Police to conduct a thorough and diligent investigation to uncover the truth behind the musician's demise.

Furthermore, he expressed the hope that the police would demonstrate professionalism in their handling of the case and that justice would be served diligently, without any interference or bias.

“We want the police to display professionalism in their dealings and investigation, and do us proud in all the operations to unravel issues around the death of Mohbad.

“We want the police to do a good job that will make Nigerians, especially aggrieved associates of the singers to have confidence in the police again.

“Justice must be done diligently without any form of interest from the rebellion,” Olaniyi said.
