Moises Caicedo Resumes Training With Brighton

Brighton's teenage midfielder Moises Caicedo resumed training with the Seagulls on Wednesday after failing to move to Arsenal on deadline day.

The Gunners had two bids for the midfielder rejected by Brighton who were adamant that Caicedo won't leave the club despite Arsenal's proposition of a club-record transfer.

This prompted the 21-year-old to plead with Brighton to let him leave and join the Premier League leaders in an open letter.

"The fans have taken me into their hearts and they will always be in my heart so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity," he wrote inter alia.

Consequently, the midfielder was told by the club management to stay away from training with the Seagulls until after Tuesday's transfer deadline.

This prompted Brighton's manager Roberto de Zerbi to remove his name from the squad that played Liverpool in Sunday's 2-1 FA Cup win over Liverpool.

Caicedo who is under contract until 2025 has made 26 appearances for Brighton in the Premier League, scoring twice.

Brighton are sixth in the Premier League, five points behind fifth-placed Tottenham, but with two games in hand on Antonio Conte's side.
