Morocco: Rescuers Hasten Mission To Save Boy Trapped In Well

Rescuers in Morocco are on Friday, hastening their mission to save a young boy trapped in a deep well for almost three days.

The five-year-old boy named Rayan, fell a 32-metre (100-foot) deep well on Tuesday, and relief operations have been in place to save him.

The Government’s spokesman, Mustapha Baitas had promised on Thursday that the child will be rescued soon, as he said; “Our hearts are with the family, and we are praying that he will be back with them as soon as possible.”

“The rescuers will dig three metres horizontally between the hole and the well to recover the child.”

Aljazeera reported that a medical team was dispatched to the scene to carry out initial checks and potential resuscitation once the boy is rescued.

Also, rescuers were able to send the child oxygen and water via pipes down the well, and a police helicopter is on standby to evacuate him to a nearby hospital.

The boy’s case has sparked an online sympathy with the hashtag #SaveRayan going viral across Twitter.

Moroccan footballer and PSG star, Achraf Hakimi also mentioned the rescue efforts on social media, alongside emojis of a broken heart and hands together in prayer.
