Mosque In Netherlands Targeted In Arson Attack

A mosque in Veldhoven, Netherlands was targeted in an arson attack near the Dutch city of Eindhoven early Saturday.

This comes as according to an official statement from the fire department.

The fire department said in a statement that the fire was brought under control in an hour.

Public news agency, NOS also added that the police suspected arson and the building was severely damaged.

The police have since launched an investigation into the case to determine the cause of the incident.

Mosque attacks hasn't been new in Netherlands as the country has witnessed multiple of such.

In 2016, a mosque under construction in Gouda, the Netherlands, was set on fire.

The police reported that it arrested a 40-year-old man without a permanent residency for his role in the arson.

Reportedly, the cause of the incident were that a fire ignited some insulation material that was available in the parking garage near the mosque under construction.
