Most Nigerian Men Sees Single Mothers As Unsuitable For Marriage — Yetunde Bakare

Nollywood actress Yetunde Bakare has brought attention to the harsh reality that many Nigerian men still view single mothers as unsuitable for marriage, regardless of their qualities as hardworking and responsible individuals.

In a recent Instagram story, Bakare called out the hypocrisy of men who claim to be open-minded and aware, but still hold onto outdated beliefs about single motherhood.

She revealed that, in her opinion, 95% of Nigerian men harbour this prejudice, despite their claims to the contrary.

“Deep down 95% of Nigerian men will never see a single mother as a wife material/marry a single mother even if she’s very hardworking/responsible.

“Despite claiming to be exposed, forming we know better and constantly talking about how being a single mother is not a disease/crime,” she wrote.
