Murray To Miss Australian Open After Positive COVID-19 Test

Three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray could miss the Australian Open after he tested positive for coronavirus. He is self-isolating at home and still hopes to travel to play at the Australian Open, which gets underway on February 8.

Murray 33, is understood to be in good health despite the infection.

The tournament  the first grand slam of the year  doesn't begin until 8 February and Murray is thought to be hoping to travel at a later date.

Murray and his team are working closely with tournament director Craig Tiley to try to come up with an acceptable solution, which would allow him to take part in the year's opening Grand Slam.

The former world No 1 will be continuing his comeback this year at some point, having at one stage feared that 2019 Australian Open might be his final tournament as a professional due to ongoing hip problems.
