Musa Amadu has dismissed reports making the rounds on his withdrawal from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) presidential race.

Amadu who is a former secretary of the Federation is one of the 11 candidates vying for the Presidential election slated for Friday in Benin.

A statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by Amadu, described as mischief the report that he had withdrawn from the race.

The former NFF General Secretary assured his supporters not to entertain any fear, saying he was still in the race.

“I, Musa Amadu will participate in the Sept. 30 election.

“This notice becomes necessary following several rumours that I have pulled out from the presidential race; as nothing of such news emanated from me.

“I assure all my supporters that I will be contesting for the position of the President of Nigeria Football Federation in Benin City, Edo come Friday, Sept. 30,” he said.

A Federal High Court Abuja had initially issued an order on Sept. 15, putting the NFF Election on hold.

Justice Inyang Ekwo, in a ruling on an ex-parte motion moved by counsel for the claimants, Celsus Ukpong, ordered the Minister of Sports, Amaju Pinnick or any person, acting on their instruction, to maintain a status quo.

This he said was pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.

Jalla, Baribote, Austin Popo, and the registered trustees of the National Association of Nigeria Footballers (trading under the name of Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria) are the plaintiffs in the suit.

PFAN is advocating for equal representation for all the five statutory bodies that make up the NFF as it relates to voting rights and representation on the NFF board.
