Musician Arrested Over Defamatory Song Against APC National

A Nasarawa Toto-based Musician, Hamza Abdullahi popularly known as H. Daddy has been arrested over his new song against the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, alleged to be defamatory

Abdullahi, according to sources, was arrested in Toto by operatives of the Nigeria Police.

The singer is currently being detained at the Divisional Police Office, Nasarawa following his arrest.

The singer had over a week ago released a song in Hausa language where he lampooned the helmsman of the governing party and his protege, Architect  Shehu Ahmad Tukur over the tussle for the party's senatorial ticket of Nasarawa West District.

Tukur had won the primary election conducted on June 4, 2022, which was later annulled by the Federal High Court, Lafia following a suit filed by his opponent, Barrister Labaran Shuaibu Magaji over gross irregularities.

Unsatisfied with the judgment of the trial Court, Tukur approached the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division which set aside the judgment of the trial Court and affirmed him as a validly nominated candidate.

He stated that the judgment of the Appellate Court if left unchallenged “will constitute a threat to democracy and also have the capacity to rubbish our internal democratic process”.

He however called on his teeming supporters, loyalists and well-wishers to be calm, law-abiding and continue to be loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) “while the law takes its natural cause as our hope is still very much alive.”
