My Album This Year Will Be What You Need From Me — Simi

Nigerian singer and songwriter Simi has taken to social media to address fans who have been eagerly anticipating new music from her.

In a post on her Instagram story, the award-winning artiste reassured fans that her album this year will be exactly what they need from her.

Simi started her post by acknowledging her fans’ messages, saying; “Army asking me when I'm dropping new new. I feel like I’m letting y’all down.”

She went on to explain that although she had multiple plans for releasing new music, life has thrown some unexpected challenges her way.

“I had a plan. Actually, like 3 plans - but life will life and you roll with the punches. And I don't want to give you rubbish stuff,” Simi wrote.

She then went on to assure fans that her upcoming album would be worth the wait.

“Just know my album this year will be the album you need from me,” she said.

Simi also opened up about her past experiences with releasing music before she was ready.

“Every time I've dropped a song because ‘time’ – I’ve ended up not liking the song or regretting it lol. I'm not doing that anymore,” she said.

Finally, Simi revealed that she might be releasing an album instead of singles this time around.

“Be patient with me. I think I’m just going to drop an album instead of singles actually. Maybe one single just right before,” she concluded.
