Mysterious Deaths In Kano Caused By COVID-19 As Lagos, Ogun,

 

The Presidential Task Force Committee on COVID-19 has disclosed that the mysterious deaths in Kano are a result of coronavirus. 

Leader of the Task Force, Dr Nasiru Sani Gwarzo, said that results carried out from the recent deaths indicated so. 

He said, “Let me inform us that most of the deaths recorded of recent and test carried out showed that Coronavirus was the cause.

“So, before the final report which would be ready in the next one week or few days, it is necessary for people of Kano to wake up from their slumber that this is a serious issue.

“It is not a new thing, countries like America, China, Italy, Spain, England, France and others experienced similar mysterious deaths.”

Over 600 people have died mysteriously in the state with the recent death being that of the emir of Rano, Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila Auta Bawo. 

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday night confirmed 170 new coronavirus cases in the country. 

Of the 170 new cases, Lagos recorded 39, followed by Kano with 29 cases. 

24 cases were recorded in Ogun, 18 in Bauchi, 15 in Kaduna, 12 in FCT, 12 in Sokoto, 8 in Katsina, 7 in Borno, 3 in Nasarawa, 2 in Adamawa and 1 in Oyo. 

There have been 400 discharged patients and 87 deaths with 2558 total number of confirmed cases.
