N-Power: Afolabi Releases Important Information To All Beneficiaries

N-Power: Afolabi Releases Important Information To All Benef

Afolabi Imoukhuede, the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Job Creation, who also doubles as the N-Power Cluster Lead of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) says beneficiaries who are eligible for payment and are yet to receive their March stipend should "remain calm".

Allnews reports that in a statement on Thursday, which was posted on the official Twitter handle of the N-Power scheme, Imoukhuede apologised for the delayed stipend payment while also explaining the change in credit alert description.

Read the full message below:

Dear All,

Some pertinent information as regards N-Power volunteers and trainees' payment in the month of March 2020.

Firstly, this is to apologise for the delay experienced in the payment of March N-Power stipends. Part of the reason is due to a change in the Payment platform used for payments in the bid to harmonize government payroll for effective and efficient disbursements of salaries to federal government employees and stipends to federal government social investments beneficiaries. Payment on this platform for N-Power beneficiaries commenced on 16th April, 2020 and is still ongoing.

This change in payment platform is responsible for the new inscription of "Federal Government of Nigeria" - FGN - FEDER" contained in the credit alerts received by beneficiaries, which is different from the usual "N-Power March..." that would have accompanied previous payments via the NIBSS payment platform. This was particularly for March stipends and will be same going forward.

We are also aware that some beneficiaries eligible for payment are yet to receive their stipends, whilst some exited and resigned beneficiaries did receive payments. The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development is currently reconciling payment accounts with the relevant stakeholders. Please be rest assured that this will be resolved and every active and validated beneficiary in the programme shall get paid and required reversals will be effected where necessary.

Please remain calm and continue to stay safe.
