Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development of Nigeria has once more ignored the plight of N-Power beneficiaries in her weekly update, AllNews reports.
Every Sunday, the Zamfara-born politician does 'My week in tweets' on her verified social media handle.
Often time, she gives updates on the ongoing N-Power Batch C registration, as well as the fate of the now-exited Batch A and B beneficiaries.
But despite owing the outgoing beneficiaries two-month stipends, and amid strong condemnation from the Nigerian youths online, Farouq turned blind eye to their clamours.
"My week in 6 tweets. On Friday, Aug 7, 2020, I held an interactive session with members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists. I thanked them for being worthy partners in the work we do. I also reminded them about the critical role of the media in disseminating accurate information," Farouq said.
"My wish at the end of the interaction was that the meeting will strengthen the cordial relationships that already exist while creating a seamless avenue for interfacing between the media, my office, and Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria (FMHDSD).
"On Wednesday, Aug 5, 2020, I attended the virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting which was presided over by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari. Urgent matters of state were deliberated upon with key decisions taken.
"With the rains intensifying, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has sent out early warning signals to help us prepare for and mitigate the effect of flooding. The Frontline States and LGAs are advised to sensitise vulnerable communities in preparation for safe evacuation in the event of flooding.

"On Thursday, Aug 6, 2020, we bid farewell to Mr. Jalal Arabi immediate past Permanent Secretary of the FMHDSD as he retires after decades of impeccable service to the FG. Mr Arabi, our 3rd PS in under one year was a committed team player and stabilising factor. He will be missed."
