N-Power Batch C: Despite Ministry Of Youth Saying Enrollment

Despite the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development saying in October that enrollment of the Batch C N-Power beneficiaries will transpire in November 2020, AllNews understands the over 5 million Nigerian youths who applied for the famed scheme are still waiting.

In a file on October 18, 25 opportunities that the Federal Government has provided for the youth, posted on Sunday Dare, the Minister of Youth and Sports' verified Twitter handle, it was stated that the N-Power Batch C Recruitment which has gained massive interest from Nigerian youths, is "coming on next month".

But almost four months after application closed, applicants are still waiting to know what next.

AllNews had reported that Sadiya Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, in August stated at the grand finale of events in commemoration of her ministry’s first year anniversary, in Abuja, the Nigerian capital city, that the ministry 'will ensure that due diligence will be applied to guarantee that only duly qualified applicants are enrolled for N-Power Batch C during the selection stage'.

“We have successfully exited the 500,000 Batch A and B beneficiaries and closed registration for Batch C with a total of 5,042,001 registrations received.

“As we move to the selection stage, the Ministry will ensure due diligence will be applied to ensure that only duly qualified applicants are enrolled,” Farouq had said.

With no further information provided on Batch C Selection Stage, youths of a country with a 27.1% unemployment rate are nervy.

On December 1, President Muhammadu Buhari approved an increase in the number of N-Power Batch C beneficiaries.

Buhari ordered the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development to increase N-Power beneficiaries from the initial 400, 000 to 1,000,000.

Thus, it looks like 1,000,000 successful enrollees will be selected from the final application pool.
