N-Power Beneficiaries Will Soon Join Bandits, Says Shehu San

Shehu Sani, the lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly has asserted that N-Power beneficiaries will join repentant bandits because the racketeers enjoy special treatment from the Nigerian government, AllNews reports.

According to Sani on his verified Twitter handle last Thursday, N-Power beneficiaries who were paid N30, 000 (approximately 78 US Dollars) might be tempted to take to banditry due to the fact that they know they will get "houses, shops and farmlands" when they repent.

As per information on the genuine website of the famed scheme, "N-Power is linked to the Federal Government’s policies in the economic, employment and social development arenas."

It adds: "N-Power addresses the challenge of youth unemployment by providing a structure for large scale and relevant work skills acquisition and development while linking its core and outcomes to fixing inadequate public services and stimulating the larger economy."

For repentant terrorists, the Muhammadu Buhari administration has said that it is "de-radicalising, rehabilitating and reintegrating willingly surrendered Boko Haram members into the larger society".

In fact, the Katsina State government is wooing bandits with houses and market stalls.
