N-Power: Despite Tuesday Promise, Beneficiaries Yet To Receive March Stipend 'Alert'

N-Power: Despite Tuesday Promise, Beneficiaries Yet To Recei

Despite assurances on Tuesday by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq that N-Power beneficiaries will start to receive their March stipend from the 14th of April, Allnews can confirm that payments have not started.

It is the second time in two weeks that Farouq will fail to keep to her promise.

Hajia Farouq had promised 'immediate payment' of the N30, 000 stipend since March 31st.

It would be recalled that Allnews exclusively reported that the fund for payment of March stipend has already been released to Hajia Farouq's ministry.

Beneficiaries had stressed that the payment of the stipend would enable them to take care of their needs during the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) lockdown.

On Tuesday afternoon, Hajiya Farouq said the ministry has signed the payment mandate after all due processes were concluded in line with the rules guiding the federal government’s public financial expenditure, and her release categorically stated that N-Power beneficiaries "will start receiving credit alerts from their banks Tuesday, April 14, 2020."

However, as at the time of publishing this report, Allnews observed that it is the same old story on non-payment coming from beneficiaries.
