The 36-state representatives of N-Power volunteers plus the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has claimed that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development of Nigeria is owing some of the volunteers 2.1 billion naira, AllNews reports.
The Kwara State coordinator/Chairman N-Power beneficiaries, Mubarak Bello stated this earlier this week during the national media conference held in Ilorin, Kwara State.
"About 14, 000 volunteers are owed five-month stipends," Bello said.
"And this amount sums up to about 2.1 billion naira, which the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development is owing some of the volunteers across the country."
The Representatives Forum held a national media conference concerning the scheme's transition plan, payment of backlogs, devices collection for Batch B and some of Batch A.
In a Press Release signed by Kabiru Aliyu Pelemi, the National President of the congress, which was sighted by AllNews after the national media conference, the Federal Government is urged "to quickly implement the transition program for the exited N-Power Volunteers latest by October 1st, 2020 to reduce the suffering already meted out".
N-Power graduate beneficiaries earn a monthly stipend of N30, 000 (78 US Dollars).
