N-Power: Is Transition List Of Nigerian States Out? (Fact-Check)

N-Power: Is Transition List Of Nigerian States Out? (Fact-Ch

A piece of information is circulating online saying that the list of available Nigerian states that submitted their N-Power transition list is out, AllNews factchecks this claim.

There is no credible information to establish that the list of available states that submitted their transition list is out.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development which is in charge of the N-Power programme has not released any information to the effect that transition list is out.

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs' last known public information regarding N-Power Transition was in August 2020 when it revealed an ongoing plan to ensure that exited and eligible N-Power beneficiaries are absorbed into government programmes.

“We have directed Focal Persons of National Social Investment Programmes in the states to submit an updated list of the exited N-Power beneficiaries that are interested in participating in the transition plans of the ministry," Minister Sadiya Farouq had said at the time through Nneka Anibeze, her Special Assistant on Media.

Since that time, nothing concrete has been announced by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs in respect of the N-Power transition for the exited Batch A and B.

Although AllNews can confirm that Lagos State N-Power beneficiaries filled an authorised Google Docs form to participate in the transition plans of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, we cannot attest to that fact for other Nigerian states as at the time of publishing this report.
