Exited beneficiaries of the Nigerian government’s N-Power scheme are still complaining about non-payment of their July stipend, AllNews reports.
This online news medium observed that these beneficiaries bemoan that their ‘several’ complaints are not being solved.
N-Power beneficiaries were entitled to a monthly stipend of N30, 000 (79 United States Dollar).
Application to take in a new batch has ended, AllNews understands.
According to authorities in Nigeria, a huge part of the famed N-Power scheme's design is the up-skilling of beneficiaries.
"Beneficiaries gain experience on the job while also learning intangible yet important soft skills in the work environment," the National Social Investment Office (NSIO) says.
@channelstv @NGRSenate its been almost two months and #NPower volunteers are still hoping that the minister of disaster will pay the stipend that is due to them. Most of the volunteers are unemployed and have this as their only means of livelihood. Lets think of posterity— MOFÒFUNOLUWA (@Am_AngelMichael) September 29, 2020
