Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development of Nigeria has ignored the plight of N-Power beneficiaries in her weekly update, AllNews reports.
Every Sunday, the Zamfara-born politician does 'My week in 7 tweets' on her verified social media handle.
Often time, she gives updates on the ongoing N-Power Batch C registration, as well as the fate of the now-exited Batch A and B beneficiaries.
But despite owing the outgoing beneficiaries two-month stipends, and amid strong condemnation from the Nigerian youths online, Farouq turned blind eye to their clamours.
"I attended the PTF briefing on Monday, July 27th alongside my colleagues. I took time to draw attention to the rains which are intensifying & to highlight the importance of focusing on early warning signals as flood prevention & mitigation strategies," Farouq said.
"I called on State Governors especially in flood-prone regions to rapidly put in place measures to mitigate the humanitarian effects on the people living in those areas.
"On Tuesday, July 28th, I participated in the Nigeria-World Bank Country Partnership Framework (CPF) meeting for 2020 - 2025 during which I spoke on the alignment of @FMHDSD's mandate with HE @MBuhari's vision of lifting 100m Nigerians out of poverty in 10 yrs.
"I made the point that the expected outcomes of the CPF would have a direct impact on the mandate of @FMHDSD especially as it concerns reducing poverty, achieving social inclusion, and building resilience for the future.
"On Wednesday, July 29th, I attended the virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by HE President @MBuhari. It was an interactive session during which important issues of the state were deliberated upon and decisions reached.

"Globally, 49% of women & 23% of girls comprise of all victims of trafficking; 59% of those are sexually exploited while 34% are pushed into forced labour. These statistics agitated my mind as I joined the world in marking the UN's #WorldDayAgainstHumanTrafficking on July 30th.
"I was therefore happy to join the 2020 #WorldDayAgainstTraffickingInPersons webinar organised by #NAPTIP which had as theme - "Human trafficking and Covid-19 pandemic: The Challenges Ahead". Speakers offered & shared rich insights & global perspectives #EndHumanTrafficking."
