N-Power: N-Creative Trainees Embark On Practical Sessions (P

Trainees of N-Creative, a sub-component of the Federal Government's N-Power scheme that authorities say will train and develop 5,000 young talents are still undergoing training in Abuja, the Nigerian capital.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development in a tweet on its verified handle on Thursday gave the update.

The strategy of the N-Creative, according to the Nigerian government, is to put Nigeria's creative industry on the global radar as exporters of world-class services and content.

The N-Power Programme Team had said that the latest tech training is targeted at Nigerian youths in the Northern zones of the country.

1, 500 beneficiaries were selected as prospective trainees for a 3-month in-camp in respect of the N-Power Tech in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Beneficiaries and trainees on January 19 started arriving at their campus, and registration commenced immediately.

About two weeks ago, Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria stressed that during the camp training, each trainee is entitled to a feeding allowance of N900 per day as well as N10,000 monthly stipend for a period of one year.

According to the minister, in addition, a laptop is provided as a training tool, procured to enable trainees maximise the skills learnt during their stay in the camp and to start off with their vocation.

She expressed her desire to see N-Creative beneficiaries in the Nigerian entertainment industry soon, even as she disclosed that the training programme will last for a period of two months, after which they will proceed on a nine-month apprenticeship programme in their various locations.

N-Power Coordinator, Nsikak Okon had said that the N-Creative trainees will be trained by veterans in the movie industry.
