N-Power/NEXIT: 8 Months On, Buhari Govt's Promise Of CBN Empowerment Remains 'Audio'

Eight months after the Federal Government announced the release of NEXIT Portal for the exited batches A and B beneficiaries, the Nigerian youths continue to hold on. Not a single beneficiary has benefitted from the synthetic NEXIT.

The NEXIT portal was released on 30 November 2020, with Nigerian authorities asking the youths they disengaged in June and July 2020 to apply for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) empowerment options.

AllNews can authoritatively report that tons of bonafide ex-beneficiaries have logged on to the NEXIT Portal (http://nexit-fmhds.cbn.gov.ng), and completed registration. Still, the wait continues, as these youths told this newspaper that they haven't heard from the CBN or the government, neither have they received any funding.

Headquartered under the office of Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria, N-Power is the most popular of the National Social Investment Programmes (N-SIP).

The Muhammadu Buhari administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC) prides N-Power as one of its major achievements.
